The People's Eating Awards by CyprusEats · Last updated: 12 August 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern participation in The People's Eating Awards (the "Awards") and use of the Awards website at thepeopleseatingawards.com (the "Site").
The Awards are organised by CYE Cypruseats Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), registration number HE433814, mailing address P.O. Box 28131, Strovolos, Nicosia, Cyprus.
By signing up, voting or otherwise using the Site, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Site.
We also collect personal data in connection with the Awards. How we do that is set out separately in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
The Awards recognise restaurants, cafés, bars, and other food and drink businesses operating in Cyprus, as chosen by the public.
Participation is free of charge. No purchase or payment is required to cast a vote or participate in the Awards. We do not sell nominations or votes, and no payment will increase any nominee's chances of being selected to receive an award.
The Awards are run across the following categories:
We reserve the right to add, merge, rename, remove or withdraw a category at any time before voting closes, including where a category receives too few eligible nominations to produce a meaningful result. Any such changes will, where reasonably practicable, be published on the Site.
Our decision regarding the creation, amendment, consolidation or withdrawal of Award categories is final.
To be eligible, a business must:
The following are not eligible: venues owned by CYE Cypruseats Ltd as well as venues owned by immediate family of the organiser who is CYE Cypruseats Ltd.
Nominated businesses do not need to apply, pay, or prior consent to be nominated for an Award. A nominated business may request to be withdrawn from the Awards at any time before the close of public voting by contacting us at awards@thepeopleseatingawards.com. Upon receiving a valid request from an authorised representative of the business, we will remove the business from the Awards as soon as reasonably practicable.
A business is not allowed to nominate itself.
We compile a committee comprised of food bloggers and content creators who in turn curate a shortlist in each category based on nominations together with our own editorial judgement. The number of nominations received does not guarantee that a business will be shortlisted. The public then exclusively votes on that shortlist.
The committee is only eligible to exclusively vote for the Content Creators Award for which only they will be eligible to vote.
All shortlisting decisions are final. We are under no obligation to provide reasons why a particular business was or was not shortlisted.
You may vote if you are:
Employees, owners, and immediate family members of nominated businesses may vote, but may not organise or take part in coordinated voting campaigns beyond ordinary, honest encouragement (see clause 8).
The integrity and credibility of the Awards depend on fair and honest voting. You must not, directly or indirectly:
Nominated businesses may encourage their customers, followers and members of the public to vote for them provided they do so fairly and lawfully. Without limitation, they may not:
We reserve the right to use any technical, analytical or investigative measures we consider appropriate to detect fraudulent, suspicious or irregular voting activity.
We may, at any time and without prior notice, investigate any vote, account, nomination or nominee where we reasonably suspect fraud, manipulation, duplication, abuse, breach of these Terms or any activity that may compromise the integrity of the Awards.
Without limiting any other rights available to us, we reserve the right to:
We are not required to disclose the methods, systems, algorithms, evidence or criteria used to identify suspicious or invalid voting activity, where doing so could prejudice the integrity or security of the Awards.
Where reasonably practicable, we will notify a nominee before publicly announcing their disqualification and provide them with a reasonable opportunity to respond. However, this does not prevent us from taking immediate interim action where necessary to protect the Awards.
All decisions made by us concerning voting, disqualification and the final results are final and binding. No correspondence or dispute will be entered into except where required by applicable law.
Results are announced on 3rd December 2026 at the awards ceremony and published on the Site and on The People's Eating Awards and CyprusEats social media channels.
We will publish the winner. We will publish vote counts and the top 3 rankings in each category.
We will not enter into correspondence or discussions regarding the voting process, vote totals or outcome of any Award. Vote totals are confidential and will not be disclosed.
Winners in each category receive a digital winner's badge, a physical trophy, a feature on CyprusEats channels and The People's Eating Awards site and channels. Awards have no cash value, are non-transferable and no cash or other alternative will be offered.
Winners and shortlisted businesses are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable revocable license to use the official Awards badge supplied by us to promote their result. The badge must be used only in the form supplied by us, not be altered or modified. It must state the relevant year and category and must not be used in any misleading manner or in a way that suggests any endorsement, accreditation, ranking, or affiliation beyond the Award actually received.
We may withdraw permission to use the badge at any time by written notice where, in our reasonable opinion, it is being used in breach of these Terms or in a misleading manner.
If permission to use the badge is withdrawn, the business must immediately cease all use of the badge and remove it from its premises and all marketing materials, websites and social media accounts within 5 days of receiving notice.
If the business fails to do so, we reserve the right to publish a statement confirming that the business is no longer authorised to use the Awards badge and to take any other steps necessary to protect the integrity of the Awards and our intellectual property.
The Awards may be supported by sponsors and commercial partners, who will be identified on the Site. Sponsorship does not influence or buy a nomination, a place on the shortlist, or a win. Where a sponsor is also a nominee, or where a category is sponsored, this will be clearly disclosed on the Site.
If you submit a nomination, comment, review, photograph, video or other content to the Site ("User Content"), you warrant and represent that:
You retain ownership of your User Content. However, by submitting it, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable licence to use, reproduce, copy, modify, publish, distribute, display, communicate, translate and otherwise exploit the User Content, in whole or in part, in any media and for any purpose connected with the Awards, the Website and our business.
We are under no obligation to publish, retain or maintain any User Content and may remove, edit, refuse to publish or disable access to any User Content at any time and without notice, for any reason.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any loss, liability, claim, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these Terms or from any User Content submitted by you.
The Site, the Awards name and logo, the badges, and all associated text, images, and design are owned by or licensed to CYE Cypruseats Ltd and are protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them commercially without our written permission, other than as expressly permitted in section 11.
We aim to keep the Site available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend, withdraw, or restrict the Site for maintenance or for any other reason without notice.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any direct or indirect loss, damage, cost or expense arising out of or in connection with the Awards, including (without limitation):
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Awards, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, shall not exceed €100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability which cannot be excluded by law.
We may amend these Terms at any time by publishing the amended version on the Site with a new "last updated" date. Material changes made while voting is open will be notified to registered voters by email.
We may postpone, suspend, or cancel the Awards, or any category, where circumstances beyond our reasonable control make it impractical or unfair to continue. If we do, we will explain why on the Site.
We collect and use personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.
The Awards are provided for recognition purposes only. We do not warrant that participation in, nomination for, shortlisting for, or winning an Award will result in any commercial benefit, increase in business, reputation or revenue.
The Awards reflect the opinions of the voting public. Results are not a statement of fact about the quality, safety, hygiene, or legal compliance of any business, and should not be relied on as such.
These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. The courts of the Republic of Cyprus have exclusive jurisdiction.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
